In spite of the standard disclaimer that shows up toward the beginning of basically every film nowadays ("any similarity to people living or dead is altogether fortuitous" and so on), Chhapaak – as is obvious from its advancements – depends on the genuine story of corrosive assault survivor and dissident Laxmi Agarwal. In the film she becomes Malti (played by Deepika Padukone) whose life changes always one day when corrosive is tossed all over. Malti is 19 at that point and Basheer Khan a.k.a. Babbu, a family companion, is 30. His thought process: she had overlooked his sentimental suggestions and was unmistakably associated with a kid in a neighboring school.
Chief Meghna Gulzar's film, which she has co-composed with Atika Chohan, is a long way from being a traditional sharp drama. Chhapaak's story style is to a great extent narrative like, leaving the awfulness of Malti's existence to accomplish its work on watcher feelings. Furthermore, when we are first acquainted with the hero, it is with her harmed face, and just in the climactic snapshots of the film do we get the chance to perceive the truth about her. Through the greater part of the running time at that point, it is unimaginable not to contrast the eroded skin on screen and the magnificence we know Padukone to be. The minor idea that one individual could do this to another, that scores of men keep on doing this to ladies in India, is clearly stunning (and indeed, dear irritated MRAs, details do show that the culprits are for the most part men). Sadly, the film's offered to be downplayed is extended excessively far.
